About Kevin
Kevin is a bass guitarist, pianist and instructor of many years with a wide variety of musical experience and education. He studied piano in New York with Marvin Drucker and trombone with Len Schneider. He played his first gig on bass guitar when he was 15 and continued playing out and studying hours daily. After arriving in Chicago, Kevin accumulated several key musical associations, including a long stint with the late blues master Barrelhouse Chuck, local blues rocker Gary Stratton, Bucharest jazz guitar phenom Gabriel Datcu, a five year stint with Chicago Soul Revue and many jobbing dates and general business gigs in the Chicago area.

While in Chicago, Kevin began a long association with David Bloom and his Bloom School Of Jazz. Already a professional bassist, he began to study jazz expression with Bloom and eventually taught his signature group improvisation classes for many years. This defining experience helped in the creation of Kevin's approach to teaching improvisation skills for all instruments, and also with developing his unique approach to addressing the special technical needs of bass guitarists.
